Early Look at Final Fantasy Tactics

VGS recently received our import copy of Final Fantasy Tactics, a strategy/RPG take on Square's popular series. The gameplay in FFT is turn-based combat through a movable isometric perspective (a device familiar to most modern gamers from Konami's Vandal Hearts). The standard graphics are only a little improved over others in the genre, but the title's introductions and spell effects are nothing less than stunning.

While Sony has not yet given an official release date for the game, it's quite likely we'll see it early next year. Be sure to check out the accompanying VGS movie of FFT, and expect a full review on the site soon.
