Elden Ring: Where To Get The Curved Sword Talisman

Enhance your guard counters!

Comments

One of Elden Ring's most interesting new mechanics is guard countering. This rewarding ability allows you to block an attack and then quickly perform a riposte that does massive damage to an enemy's poise. If you rely on guard counters consistently, you'll want to grab the Curved Sword Talisman, though, as it enhances them so that you'll deal even more damage to your opponents. In this guide, we'll tell you where to get your hands on this talisman.

Curved Sword Talisman explained

The Curved Sword Talisman increases your guard counter damage by 20%. It may not sound like a lot in the grand scheme of things, but every little bit adds up, especially against bosses.

The Curved Sword Talisman's item description reads:

A talisman depicting a curved sword and a swordsman. Enhances guard counters. It is said that a blind swordsman was the originator of this technique--the art of allowing one's opponent to strike so as to leave them vulnerable to a well-timed reply.

Where to get the Curved Sword Talisman

The Curved Sword Talisman is located inside the opening segment of the Stormveil Castle legacy dungeon. In order to reach this talisman, you'll need to have taken the side path into the castle as per Gatekeeper Gostoc's suggestion.

As you navigate the opening part of the dungeon, you'll need to make your way up a few sets of wooden stairs and defeat some easy enemies. Eventually, you'll reach a section with a closed door on the right directly after a set of steps. Opening this door triggers the screen to go black.

When you regain control of your character, you'll find that you've been locked in the room and are forced to face a Banished Knight. This foe can be a slightly challenging encounter for a low-level player, but he should fall quickly with a bit of blocking and guard counters, or by simply dodging and taking hits when you can.

After the Banished Knight is, well, banished… Seek out a chest in the back corner of this dark room. Inside the chest is the Curved Sword Talisman.
