Empire Interactive has announced the planned Easter release of an English version of the popular Funcom game The Longest Journey. The adventure game, which takes place 200 years in the future, has already been released elsewhere in Europe in five other languages. The player takes the role of a young art student who discovers she has the power to shift between a world based on science and technology and a parallel world filled with magic and fantastic creatures. According to Funcom, the game features motion-captured and speaking characters in full 3D and 30 minutes of movie sequences. Funcom claims the challenging puzzles and 160 highly detailed locations provide the average gamer about 60 hours of gameplay.

Empire Interactive and Funcom believe that the lack of quality adventure games released in the past few years has left the market hungry for a quality release. They are hoping that The Longest Journey will be what adventure gamers have been waiting for.
