Black Element Software has released new screenshots from and information on Nefandus, a new horror action adventure title currently in development for the PC and the Xbox. The developers are working under the direction of Bohemia Interactive, who developed the highly successful PC game Operation Flashpoint. The opening cinema tells the story of a stranger who is the last passenger on an evening train. This stranger eventually realizes that things aren't as they should be. The game features real weapons and fictional enemies, as well as a lead character who is half demon and half human. Nefandus spans more than 70 levels, with a variety of environments including an abandoned village, a military base, a besieged medieval town, and cursed mines.

The game is currently slated for a release in the first quarter of 2003. No word yet on a North American release.
