Get Starfield For Free When You Buy An Xbox Series X

Multiple stores are bundling Starfield and other Xbox Series X games with the console for a limited time.

Multiple online retailers are offering a special limited-time bundle that includes a free copy of Starfield--or in the case of Target, a game of your choice--when you buy a new Xbox Series X console.

Verizon's version of the deal includes a free copy of Starfield and the Xbox Series X for $500 (normally $570). The offer is only available online, but it's open to everyone, even if you're not a Verizon customer. You can grab the deal over on Verizon's online store. Verizon offers free two-day shipping.

Target has a similar bundle deal when you buy a new Xbox Series X--but instead of a specific game, customers get to select their free game from a list of eligible titles. There are dozens of games to pick from, including Starfield, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Diablo IV, and more. Target's bundle is available for $500 online or in store. In-store pickup, delivery, and shipping availability may vary.

If you're not sure which deal to go for, the obvious decision is whether you want to buy Starfield--if you don't want Starfield and would rather select a game yourself, go with Target. However, if it's a question of value, Verizon's bundle may offer better savings since some games in Target's bundle are less expensive than Starfield. That said, as long as you choose a new $70 game like Mortal Kombat 1 or Madden NFL 24 from Target's list, the savings are identical between the two bundles.

It's also worth noting that Starfield is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft's subscription service that grants access to hundreds of games and online multiplayer for $17/month. if you think you'll want Game Pass regardless, it'd be best to pick a game from Target, like any of the aforementioned titles, that isn't available on Game Pass. To save a bit of cash on Game Pass, consider buying a three-month Game Pass Ultimate subscription at Amazon for $45.

Target's Xbox Series X with free game bundle offer expires on September 30. Verizon's store page does not list an end date for the deal, but it's safe to assume it won't be available for long. Verizon's gaming console deals tend to sell out quickly.
