A new companion has arrived in the Season of the Construct, but how do you improve it?

Comments

Season of the Construct in Diablo 4 has introduced a plethora of new content, but there are fewer additions more anticipated by fans than the Seneschal companion. This tiny bug-like robot allows you to have a sidekick during battle, as it can fight alongside you and help with some of Season 3's tougher encounters. However, when you first get the Seneschal companion, it won't be very strong.

Luckily, as you progress in Season 3, you can upgrade the companion to make it stronger and give it new abilities to help you in every facet of Diablo 4's combat. To see exactly how to upgrade the Seneschal in Diablo 4, the guide below explains everything.

Upgrade your Seneschal Companion in Diablo 4

For starters, the Seneschal won't always be a low-level companion in Diablo 4. The robot scales with your character level, so as you progress in Season 3, your companion also grows stronger. So an easy way to make the Seneschal more effective is to simply increase your own character level, which can be done easily by participating in the seasonal content.

However, if you really want to make your Seneschal a true force as your sidekick, you need to give it Governing and Tuning Stones. Governing Stones determine what type of attacks your Seneschal can perform while Tuning Stones upgrade those attacks and make them stronger. You can equip your Seneschal with two Governing Stones and three Tuning Stones attached to each of those, making for six Tuning Stones in total. In Season 3, you can find a total of 12 Governing Stones and 27 Tuning Stones, meaning you have quite a bit of looting to do if you want the freedom to customize your companion to the fullest. In order to find Governing and Tuning Stones, you can do a few different things in Season 3.

The first is completing Vaults, where you are rewarded with one Tuning Stone upon each Vault's completion. While completing the Vaults, which are spread out across the map, you might find the Construct enemy type. Constructs have a chance to drop Shattered Stones when defeated, which can be crafted into Governing or Tuning Stones at a Jeweler's shop. You're also able to earn Shattered Stones by dismantling traps in the Vaults and through Arcane Tremors in Season 3. Arcane Tremors can also produce Governing Stones as well.

If you're looking for both Governing and Tuning Stones, you can check Wardwoven Chests, which are found all across Sanctuary, and simply complete quests in Season 3. The Season of the Construct questline rewards you with an ample amount of stones in the various caches you earn for completing quests.

Once you have any amount of Governing and Tuning Stones, you can begin to customize your Seneschal. The stones are equipped through your inventory, where they're filtered so you can get a good look at how the stones interact with one another. The Governing Stones also say what type of attack they perform, making it easy to know what Tuning Stones might mesh well with them.
