Hulu Support On Older Roku Devices Will End Later This Month
If your Roku device is newer than 2012, you have to worry about Hulu not working.
Starting on June 24, owners of Roku devices manufactured in 2012 or older will no longer be able to use Hulu, the company said in a recent update to its support page.
The affected devices include Roku Streaming Player models 2400 to 3100 and Roku Streaming Stick model 3420 or earlier. You can head to the About menu under Settings on your Roku device to learn which model you have.
These Roku devices were previously able to use the Classic Hulu app, which restricted access to certain Hulu content, such as live TV and premium add-ons (like the newly released HBO Max).
A similar situation happened with HBO Max just recently, with the streaming platform being unavailable on both Amazon and Roku devices. And Netflix stopped working on old Roku devices last year.
Hulu did provide a list of the Roku devices that will still support the app, which you can check out below:
- Roku Ultra
- Roku Premiere and Premiere+
- Roku Express and Express+
- Roku 3 and 4
- Roku 2 (model 4210)
- Roku Streaming Stick (model 3500 or later)
- Roku TV
- 4k Roku TV
