Developer Hazelight Studios has announced It Takes Two has sold over 10 million copies. The cooperative adventure game, published by Electronic Arts, originally launched in March 2021.

The major sales milestone was publicized on Twitter by Hazelight Studios. "Our minds are officially blown," the developer said. "... Potentially twice as many players have enjoyed our game--we never dared to dream of so many fans! Thank you for all the love."

In July 2022, Hazelight revealed that It Takes Two had sold over seven million copies. That means the co-op game, which won Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2021, has added three million in sales during the past seven months. In that time, It Takes Two launched on Nintendo Switch in November.

Hazelight Studios previously worked on A Way Out. Looking ahead, the It Takes Two developer has stated its next game is "something really f**cking cool!" And the co-op game might even become a movie for Amazon Prime Video with Dwayne Johnson.

It Takes Two sees two parents, who are planning to get divorced, turning into dolls, similar to a Freaky Friday-type situation. What follows is the pair going on a 3D platforming adventure together. GameSpot's It Takes Two review from Andrew King said it's "the best 3D platformer I've played since Super Mario Odyssey, and like that game, it has a flair for variety."
