THQ and Sega have today announced that Jet Grind Radio will be released for the Game Boy Advance next year. The game is the third in the series, with previous incarnations having proved popular on both the Dreamcast and Dreamcast consoles.

As in previous games in the series, the mission-based solo game will see players skating through a number of different city environments and adorning them with graffiti while attempting to evade rival gangs and the police. The game will also boast no less than five different multiplayer games for up to four players including out tag, turf wars, jet, throw down, and tricky.

"Sega is known for its innovative and genre-defying content," said Shinobu Toyoda, executive vice president of content strategy and business development, Sega of America. "With the release of Jet Grind Radio for the Game Boy Advance, Sega and THQ are delivering one of the industry's most popular urban adventures, which combines edgy elements of the streets, graffiti art, skating, and music, to the handheld gaming audience."

No screenshots of Jet Grind Radio on the GBA have been released, but the game will purportedly be in true 3D with huge game levels spanning five different city environments. We'll bring you more information on Jet Grind Radio ahead of its spring 2003 release.
