New screenshots of and information on Zone of the Enders for the PlayStation 2.

GameSpot brings you several new screenshots of Konami's Zone of the Enders for the Sony PlayStation 2. The playable version was demonstrated by Konami representatives at its Gamers Day event. It previewed the very early portions of the game, primarily involving control and gameplay tutorials and some story elements. According to Konami, the game's plot emphasizes the value of human life, and this has an affect on the gameplay. It's lead character, Leo, can choose to be overly violent during the battles and show disregard for the other human occupants of the Z.O.E. world, or he can make it a point to avoid hitting buildings and destroying roadways during battle sequences - the decision is left up to the player. The game is mission based, and the action moves from zone to zone. Players will have to move from one zone to another, and backtrack, while progressing the game's story.

The demo shown had the Japanese voice-overs and English subtitles. Naturally, the North American release will have complete English voice work. Zone of the Enders will be released near the end of March 2001 in the US.
