The 2010/2011 NFL season kickoff is only one month away, but EA Sports and Sony are heating the action up a bit sooner. Sony and EA's sports arm today announced the Madden NFL 11 bundle for the PSP, a collection that packs in a copy of the game alongside a system for $169.99.

Sony made the announcement today on the PlayStation Blog and confirmed that the Madden NFL 11 PSP bundle (pictured) will touch down on August 10 at "most major retailers." Gridiron portable gamers can pick up a copy of the game on that day separately as well.

Developed by Orlando, Florida-based EA Tiburon for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Wii, Madden NFL 11 will introduce GameFlow, a new coaching system that lets players call more realistic, situational plays in less time. It will also feature an overhauled presentation with new audio and broadcast flourishes, as well as revised animations and online features.

The Madden NFL 11 PSP bundle follows Sony's Metal Gear Solid collectible system, which was released in June. The $199 bundle included a "Spirited Green" version of the handheld, a UMD copy of Peace Walker, and a 2GB memory stick. Those who picked up the bundle also earned access to a pair of unlockable in-game goodies in the form of a Fox-branded camouflage uniform and stealth gun feature.
