During Geeked Week Day 2, Netflix released a new promotional video for Day Shift--a vampire comedy that was first announced way back in 2020. As the film inches closer to its August 12 release, the streaming service has put together a clip giving viewers a taste of the action and stunt work that went into the film.

Per the earlier announcement, Jamie Foxx stars as "a hard-working, blue-collar dad who wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted eight-year-old daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool-cleaning job is a front for his real source of income--hunting and killing vampires." Or, as Foxx says in this new clip, the movie is packed with "eating popcorn moments" as he plays someone who is "chasing down vampires and getting money for fangs."

In addition to Foxx, the film's trailer gives away that Snoop Dogg will at the very least have a surprise cameo. Day Shift's other stars include Dave Franco, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey, and C.S. Lee.

The script comes from Tyler Tice--with revisions and punch-ups from Shay Hatten (John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum)--and will be helmed by first-time director JJ Perry. Tice's script won the 2017 Slamdance Writing Competition Grand Prize, which reportedly helped get it noticed and scooped up to be made.
