The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum is described as a "story-driven action-adventure, where players take on the role of Gollum to win back his precious lost ring." The game will focus on stealth, with Gollum maneuvering through iconic areas in The Lord Of The Rings lore including the Mines of Moria, Mirkwood, and Mordor while meeting important characters like the wizard Gandalf and Thranduil, king of the elves and Legolas's father.

Gollum is scheduled for release in 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It is a new take on the Lord Of The Rings franchise, one that focuses on a character that fans have known for a long time, but whose story has never been told in this format. The game is being developed by Daedalic Entertainment, a German developer whose body of work includes top-down action game Glitchpunk and 3D puzzler Felix The Reaper.
