Following up on the game's official unveiling at the recently concluded E3 in Los Angeles, Sega has released several new screenshots from Gun Valkyrie for the Microsoft Xbox. In the game, players assume the role of a member of the elite Gun Valkyrie special-forces unit. The objective is to rid the planet of the mysterious insect-like creatures that have appeared since the disappearance of a famous doctor who was responsible for inventing a revolutionary form of energy.

Originally in development for the Dreamcast, Gun Valkyrie was initially going to have a cel-shaded graphical look, very much like Smilebit's other game franchise, Jet Grind Radio. However, those plans went out the window when the game's development moved to the Xbox, as the title now has a more realistic visual style.

Gun Valkyrie is well into development and should be ready for its projected release alongside the November launch of the Microsoft Xbox.
