Electronic Arts and Digital Illusions have released an official World War II mod for Battlefield Vietnam, the sequel to 2002's Battlefield 1942. Available now on GameSpot DLX, the mod includes three original Pacific theater maps, and it updates all of the original game's features to take advantage of the Battlefield Vietnam engine.

Players can now crawl through the swaying grass on Iwo Jima, blast music from the jeep on Wake Island, and wield flamethrowers in Invasion of the Philippines. All of the weapons and vehicles have been updated for Battlefield Vietnam's engine, and players can now customize their characters with the sequel's body kits.

Battlefield Vietnam was released in March. For more on the game, see GameSpot's review.
