New StarCraft 2 Co-Op Content Revealed
Another commander is coming soon.
Having revealed many of the possible balance changes that will shake up StarCraft II's multiplayer, Blizzard today unveiled a new commander for the game's co-op mode.
Alarak, who is also coming to Heroes of the Storm as part of a StarCraft-themed event, will be StarCraft II's ninth commander. He's actually playable on the battlefield, and the trailer above shows off some of the abilities he has at his disposal. These include a dash move, one that rapidly summons in air units, and another that bounces enemies up into the air.
Alarak fights alongside Tal'darim Protoss units that have unique moves of their own. He's described as being somewhat frail, so while his abilities lend themselves to playing aggressively, you still need to be careful. He's recommended for experienced players.
A specific release date for Alarak was not announced.
If you're unfamiliar with StarCraft II's co-op mode, Blizzard also shared a new overview video (below) that runs down what it entails. It's available to all StarCraft II players, although you'll need to own Legacy of the Void to access its full slate of commanders.

Blizzard detailed some major balance changes to StarCraft II's multiplayer over the weekend. Those won't be added into the live game until later this year. You can, however, try them out in the meantime and share your feedback with Blizzard, which today released the first of several balance test maps. You can access it by looking for it in the Top Played section of the Custom games area in-game.
