After two full-length trailers and a bevy for behind-the-scenes information from the director himself on Twitter, James Gunn's The Suicide Squad hype train is showing no signs of stopping. TotalFilm has recently released a slew of brand new images from the movie, featuring John Cena, Idris Elba, Daniela Melchior, David Dastmalchian, and the already beloved CGI monster, King Shark (voiced by none other than Sylvester Stallone).

Check out the images in their tweet below.

Given just how much promotional material has come out in the past few weeks for this movie, details of the plot are still being kept relatively vague. We know that the Squad is being sent in to fight Starro, a classic mind-controlling DC villain who made a surprise appearance at the end of the movie's first trailer, but that's about the extent of it. We can't be sure where, exactly, this fits in to the greater DCEU timeline, just how many characters of the movie's massive cast will make it out alive, or what their relationships with one another might be.

We do know that Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), and Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) will all be making their returns after first teaming up in 2016's Suicide Squad movie, and that this incarnation isn't exactly a "reboot" of that movie--but it's not particularly related, either. We also know Cena's Peacemaker will likely survive, given that a spin-off TV series about the character is already in production.

The Suicide Squad is hitting theaters and HBO Max on August 6, 2021.
