Parasite Eve: Shock to the System

The makers of FFVII, Square, released its newest RPG this past week in Japan. We got our hands on a copy of the anticipated title to see what it was like.

Well, it's a whole lot like Resident Evil 2 and Final Fantasy VII all rolled into one. Which isn't such a bad mix.

Visually the game looks like Resident Evil 2 - with changing camera angles and beautiful CG cinemas through out the game.

The most notable aspect of Parasite Eve is its unorthodox battle system. Parasite Eve is a turn-based RPG with a twist. Instead of just waiting for your turn, you have to control your character and dodge opponents' attacks. And since the game has analog support, it's easy to move within the 3D environment.

Square hasn't officially announced Parasite Eve for a US release date but it is speculated to hit our shores this fall.
