If you're looking for something to play this weekend, you're in luck. Assassin's Creed Odyssey will be free to play from March 19 to March 22 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. We'd be wildly impressed if you managed to start and finish the absolutely massive adventure in a four-day span. Either way, it's a great opportunity to check out one of the best action-RPGs in recent years without spending a dime.

The free weekend includes the entire base game, which offers well over 50 hours worth of content. You won't have access to the two DLC story arcs---Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis--that come with the DLC. All players will also get the Ezio's Roman Armor Set courtesy of Ubisoft Club by playing this weekend.

Now Playing: Assassin's Creed Odyssey Video Review

Assassin's Creed Odyssey released in 2018 to rave reviews. It further leans into the role-playing mechanics systems introduced in Assassin's Creed Origins, sending players all the way back to 431 BC. A fictional re-telling of the Peloponnesian War, Odyssey chronicles the struggle between Athens and Sparta. You get to choose between two playable characters, half-siblings Alexios and Kassandra.

Ubisoft's grand adventure earned an 8/10 in GameSpot's Assassin's Creed Odyssey review. "While its large-scale campaign--clocking in at over 50 hours--can occasionally be tiresome, and some features don't quite make the impact they should, Odyssey makes great strides in its massive and dynamic world, and it's a joy to venture out and leave your mark on its ever-changing setting," critic Alessandro Fillari wrote.

If you like what you play during the free weekend, you can grab the standard edition for $19.80 on PC via the Ubisoft Store. The Gold Edition, which includes the season pass and remastered versions of Assassin's Creed 3 and Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, is discounted to $33 on PC. Console users have a few more options. For the standard edition, you'll want to shop at Best Buy, as the retailer has the PS4 and Xbox One version discounted to just $15 right now in its current weekly sale. Just make sure you grab it before Sunday, as the sale price will likely go away when Best Buy's weekly ad refreshes. Alternatively, you can also grab the Gold Steelbook Edition for $44 from the Ubisoft Store.
