Pokemon Go Is Lighting Up the Music World, See Top-Streamed Spotify Songs Here

Pokemon Go is taking the world by storm, and that includes the music world.

Music streaming service Spotify announced today that streams of Pokemon songs more than tripled in the past week. The official Pokemon theme song saw the most dramatic increase, rising 362 percent in the week ended Sunday, July 10, compared to the week prior.

Spotify also announced that its users have made 197,000 Pokemon playlists; additionally, some 53,000 playlists are titled "Pikachu" (via GameSpot sister site CNET).

Additionally, Spotify revealed the five most-streamed Pokemon tracks. These are listed below and can be heard in this post through the embed below.

Spotify did not say how many streams Pokemon songs achieved previously, so it's difficult to know for sure what this increase, however dramatic-looking, really amounts to.
