2011's over-the-top open-world action game Saints Row: The Third is now free to download on Xbox Live for Xbox 360 if you're an Xbox Live Gold member. The game is free through Microsoft's Games With Gold promotion through the end of the month. It replaces Dust: An Elysian Tail, which was free for subscribers May 1-15.

If you're at work or school, you can queue up your Saints Row: The Third free download through the Xbox marketplace. The game normally sells for $20. Looking ahead, June's free games on Xbox 360 will be Dark Souls, Charlie Murder, and a special third game, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.

Microsoft's Games With Gold program also comes to Xbox One in June, when Halo: Spartan Assault and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood will be free to download. Unlike on Xbox 360, for the Xbox One version of Games With Gold, you'll need to have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to hang on to your free games. The same is true for Sony's PlayStation Plus program.
