Save Big On Seagate's 2TB Xbox Expansion Card During Prime Day

Upgrade your Xbox Series X|S storage capacity with this great deal on Seagate's SSD memory cards.

Comments

A terabyte of storage capacity is more than sufficient for a big collection of documents, movies, and various applications, but on consoles? That's barely enough for a new Call of Duty, a few indie games, and the latest Game Pass releases (we're somewhat exaggerating here). Fortunately, Xbox Series X|S owners can easily upgrade the digital real estate on their consoles with Seagate's 2TB expansion card, which is now on special for Amazon Prime Day Round 2.

You can grab the 2TB expansion card for $230, down from $280. Alternatively, you can opt for the 1TB Seagate card for $130. However, if you're going the 1TB route, Western Digital's expansion card is slightly cheaper at $120.

These plug-and-play memory cards are easy to use, as you simply have to insert them into your console and you'll be ready to install games onto them. It combines an impressive amount of storage capacity inside of a pocket-sized NVMe SSD case. Combined with the Xbox Velocity architecture, you'll be able to enjoy minimal loading screens and quick transfers using this expansion card.

Games installed on the card work just as well as they do on the core SSD of these consoles, so you want need to worry about sacrificing graphics, latency, load times, or frame rates on your favorite games. On top of that, the Quick Resume function also works on this card so you can switch between multiple games almost instantly.

You cannot load Xbox Series X|S games from a regular portable drive; only the officially licensed expansion cards have the ability to function like your Xbox's internal SSD.

Seagate's Xbox Series X|S expansion cards rarely--very rarely--receive discounts, so this is one of the most notable Prime Day gaming deals. This card used to have a monopoly on Xbox storage expansion, but earlier this year WD Black's C50 joined the party.
