Clear some space.

Shenmue 3 will take up 100 GB of storage space on PC, developer Ys Net has revealed. The detail was included in a new updated posted on the game's Kickstarter page, which lists the PC system requirements. That is an unusually large amount of space, especially when you consider other open-world titles such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim require considerably less (35 GB for the former, 12 GB for the latter). Take a look at the full system requirements below.

The update alerts backers that surveys for the crowdfunded project are now going out, which means they can start picking what platform they'd like to receive the game on, and receive information about their backer rewards. Surveys will go out to all backers who pledged on Kickstarter and Slacker Backer from August 13.

The update also provides information on the game's "AI Battling" system, which has been expanded. "This control system lets you automatically unleash the perfect technique in response to the opponent's positioning and distance," it reads. "R&D for this system is based on Yu Suzuki's concept for players who are not used to fighting games or for those who want a full immersion battle experience. This battle system is highly compatible with the current battle system, and will be implemented upon reaching the stretch goal."

As of yet, Shenmue 3 doesn't have a specific release date. On May 17, publisher Deep Silver confirmed the title had been pushed back into 2019. The delay, according to the publisher, was to give Ys Net extra time to further refine the game.

"The extra time will be used to polish the quality of the game even further, to the high standards it deserves and release the product in the best possible timeframe," it said.

Sega also recently announced it is releasing Shenmue I & II collection on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2018. The new versions of the games offer "fully scalable screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an updated user interface, and the option to enjoy either the original Japanese or English voiceovers."
