Sonic the Hedgehog in the Palm of your hand?

Sega announces a deal to bring video game content to Palm wireless handheld computers.

Comments

Sega Corporation and Palm Inc. today announced a "strategic partnership" that will see Sega producing both online and offline games for use on the Palm V and Palm VII later this year. No titles have been confirmed as yet, but it seems reasonable to assume that Sega's mascot Sonic the Hedgehog will have a role to play at some point.

"This deal breaks new ground for the video gaming industry and it opens up new revenue streams for the company," said Kazutoshi Miyake, COO of Sega Europe. "People want to play more games on the move, and Palm's handheld devices are one of the best vehicles for enjoying Sega games anytime, anywhere."
