It's been nearly two years since Star Citizen's original Kickstarter campaign ended, and funding continues to pour in for the upcoming PC space sim from Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts.
The crowdfunding campaign recently crossed $60 million and is now more than halfway to $61 million. This is up significantly from the $59 million milestone reached early last week.
Star Citizen, which started on Kickstarter in 2012 before continuing to accept pledges through its own website, is the top crowdfunded project of any kind of all-time. To date, around 640,000 people have contributed to the project.
Most recently, developer Cloud Imperium Games released the first footage of the game's first-person shooter module. You can watch that clip, which was released during PAX Australia last week, above.
For more on Star Citizen and Roberts himself, check out part one and part two of GameSpot's interview with the legendary designer.
