StarCraft 2 Nova Covert Ops Release Date Announced
You don't need to own StarCraft II to play Nova Covert Ops.
StarCraft II fans will be getting a treat this month as Nova Covert Ops' first mission pack releases March 29. The pack doesn't require you to own StarCraft II to play it, either--you do, however, need the free Starter Edition.

Developer Blizzard announced the release date in a press release. It also said the first of three mission packs brings "new mechanics" to the "classic StarCraft II gameplay" throughout three missions. The second and third packs release later this year and add another three missions each, making a total of nine altogether.
Nova Covert Ops has you play as November "Nova" Terra to take on assignments such as infiltrating bases, intercepting invasions, and leveraging experimental technology.
The three Nova Covert Ops mission packs cost $14.99 and are all expected to release before December 1.
In StarCraft-related news, Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void sold one million copies in its first 24 hours last year.
