Stellar Blade Release Date Revealed At State of Play

Formerly known as Project Eve, Shift Up's new action game Stellar Blade was in the spotlight during the January State of Play broadcast, where Sony finally revealed the game's release date: April 26, 2024.

The trailer gave players a closer look at the way the game mechanics work outside of combat, with a focus on interactions with NPCs and finding consumables. Players also got a glimpse at some previously unseen game environments. Of course, combat was also a major focus of the trailer, with some never-before seen enemies making an appearance.

Stellar Blade follows Eve, who must travel through various parts of the world fighting creatures called Naytiba, with her ultimate goal being to eliminate the Elder Naytiba. But she's not fighting alone--two companions, named Adam and Lily will be at her side throughout her adventure, helping Eve upgrade her gear as she explores an off-world colony she fled to after a devastating Naytiba attack left her homeworld uninhabitable.

Details on the game have been slim since it was first revealed in September 2021, but what we do know about the game is that it'll focus on the protagonist Eve and her comrades in their struggle to reclaim Earth from the assorted NA:tive monsters roaming the ruined planet. It's not long before Eve meets a survivor, Adam, and she discovers the last surviving city, Xion.

For the combat, Project Eve prioritizes deflecting and evading attacks as you wait for a window of opportunity to open up for some stylish counterattacks. You'll be able to arm yourself with unique Beta Skills and intense Burst Skills, mixing melee and ranged combat to devastating effect.
