Supergirl is the latest of DC's superhero properties to hit the small screen, and it has proved extremely popular with viewers. Now a full season trailer has been released--check it out below:

The debut episode, which aired on CBS last night (October 26), pulled in 12.94 million viewers, making it more popular than any previous superhero TV show. As IGN notes, the previous record holder was ABC's Marvel show Agents of SHIELD, which recored 12.12 million viewers in 2013. Curiously, Supergirl now goes out against another DC show, Gotham, which screens on Fox.

The show stars Melissa Benoist as superpowered Kara Danvers, who, like her cousin Superman, has to learn to use her powers to help others and fight crime. As well as being a viewing success, the show has proved popular with critics, with many praising Benoist's performance.

Supergirl also stars Mehcad Brooks and David Harewood, plus Helen Slater as Kara's adoptive earth mother. Slater previously played Supergirl in the 1984 film version.
