Every week, we take a look at some of the most bizarre, exciting, and downright unique things to happen in comics. Check out our choices below of the strange and wacky things that shouldn't be overlooked from this week's releases.

SPIDEY #2

Best Lord of the Rings Reference

This series deals with a young Spider-Man, still in high school. Peter may be brilliant but it turns out he needs a tutor for history, partly due to being so distracted with his superhero extracurricular activities. His teacher assigned Gwen Stacy as his tutor and it happens he has a pretty big crush on her. Because he's a little nervous when it come to making casual conversation, when Gwen asks Peter if he thinks he'll pass, he gives a variation of that one Lord of the Rings quote.

GREEN LANTERN #48

Best Temper Tantrum

Hal Jordan's nephew was recently injured at an amusement park by a terrorist calling himself Sonar. Hal manages to track down a group of his soldiers. The soldiers end up killing themselves rather than give up their leader. Hal is outraged and lets out his anger in a spectacular fashion.

Best Deadpool Commentary on the Effects of Eating Arby's

This is actually not the first time Deadpool has mentioned Arby's. Deadpool gives a pretty graphic description of what happens when he eats too much food from Arby's.

One can only imagine how bizarre the inside of Deadpool's mind might be. He convinces Cable to do so and it's quite a trip. Why are there flying burritos in Deadpool's mind? We may never know the answer.

Plastic Man recently released a bunch of heroes and villains Superman had locked up when they opposed the idea of him ruling the world. Flash comes across a group of them and is quickly outnumbered. The villains are smart enough to quickly give up when Superman arrives.

Best Reason Not to Mix Throwing Up with Magic

In a flashback, we see Stephen Strange training with the Ancient One in his early days. It turns out there is a price in working with magic. Strange suddenly finds himself unable to stop throwing up.

Best Reason We Need to See More Iron Man and Doctor Strange Team-Ups

Previously Tony Stark tried getting Doctor Strange to high five him for being "Awesome Facial Hair Bros." Strange didn't want to have anything to do with it. After helping out Stark, Strange throws Tony a bone and acknowledges that they are indeed Awesome Facial Hair Bros and makes Tony's day.

Batman is known for making quick exits at the end of a conversation. Countless times Jim Gordon has been talking to Batman on the GCPD rooftop only to turn around and discover Batman has mysteriously disappeared. Now that Jim is Batman, he gets to do disappear behind Harvey Bullock's back when they're talking in a morgue.

Best Reason You Shouldn't Try Messing With the Timeline

The Ultimates are trying to fix big problems. There has been a lot of damage with heroes and villains trying to mess around with time travel. When it's suggested they go back and try to stop someone like Doctor Doom from inventing a time machine, using his time travel tech, Ms. America gives a description of what it could be like--spaghetti that screams.

Best Reason a Fearsome Hero Wouldn't Want a Heightened Sense of Smell

It's not often comic book characters get the chance to tell jokes. Throughout the issue in the scenes where Archie is talking to readers, he attempts to tell a joke about a man with a pet centipede who wants to take him for a walk. Archie keeps getting interrupted before he can deliver the punchline. Eventually he manages to finish.
