Uncharted 3 set for fall 2011 - Retail Radar
E3 2010: French Amazon site taking preorders for next installment in Sony's adventure series with a Halloween launch date.
Last year's Sony E3 press conference was somewhat anticlimactic, as the electronics giant's major announcements--the PSP Go and the motion-sensing PlayStation 3 Move controller--both leaked before the show began. The company has done a better job of plugging leaks for this year's press event, although it may have missed one just hours before the show kicks off.
The French Web site of retailer Amazon has a PlayStation 3 product page up for Uncharted 3, with an October 31, 2011, date attached. Unfortunately, the page offers no further details about the title.
While not official, a third Uncharted game is a no-brainer for Sony. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was critically hailed, selling nearly 3 million copies in a matter of months and dominating the Interactive Achievement Awards and Game Developers Choice Awards. On top of that, Sony also has an Uncharted feature film in the works, with I Heart Huckabees director David O. Russell reportedly considered for the director's chair.
