Xbox Game Pass Loses These Two Games Very Soon

Headed out.

Microsoft has confirmed a list of all the titles leaving the Xbox Game Pass library at the end of the month, and the good news is that there are only a couple titles getting dumped.

On February 29, Microsoft will remove Madden NFL 22 (console, PC) and Soul Hackers 2 (console, PC, cloud) from the Game Pass library. If you're a football fan, it might be some consolation to know that the newest entry in the series, Madden NFL 24, was just recently added to the Game Pass library (and Madden NFL 23 is still on Game Pass as well via EA Play). Soul Hackers 2 was released on Game Pass on February 28, 2023, so it seems Atlus/Sega might have had a one-year deal with Microsoft.

As usual, Game Pass subscribers who want to keep playing can buy these games outright for 20% off. Earlier this month, Microsoft removed Galactic Civilizations III and Opus: Echo of Starsong from Game Pass, meaning Microsoft is cutting a total of four games in February.

In terms of additions to the catalog, Game Pass is getting a bunch more games before the end of February, including Tales of Arise, Return to Grace, Bluey: The Video Game, Indivisible, and more. In March, Blizzard's Diablo IV comes to Game Pass.

In other news, Microsoft recently confirmed that Game Pass has climbed to 34 million subscribers. Additionally, Microsoft stated that Game Pass will not come to PS5 or Switch.

Game Pass removals for February 29

  • Madden NFL 22 -- console, PC
  • Soul Hackers 2 -- console, PC, cloud
