Xbox One Elite Controller Mods Are Among New Accessory Maker's Launch

Bionik is a newly launched gaming peripherals manufacturer based in Los Angeles, CA. The company officially opened its doors for business this week and is seeking to fill an untapped market with virtual reality accessories and controller modifications. We had the chance to get a look at a few of the products they’ll be offering, which will be available in January 2017.

Xbox One Elite Controller Accessories Kit ($20)

Bionik's Xbox One Elite controller accessories kit comes with four textured paddles for the triggers behind the controller. It also includes a textured circular cover for the directional pad. The intention is to make the Elite more ergonomic with better grip on the paddles and D-pad. These add-ons come in silver or black.

Xbox One Quickshot Trigger Locks ($15)

The Xbox One Quickshot comes with two detachable grips that replace stock grips of standard Xbox One controllers. It features customizable actuation of the left and right triggers, a key feature of the Xbox Elite controllers. You can set the distance at which the triggers stop to register input. Shorter distance makes for quicker actions, which make a difference in fast-paced games.

Lynx Braided Charging Cables for DualShock 4 and Xbox One Controllers ($15)

Bionik's Lynx charging cables for Xbox One or DualShock 4 controllers feature a braided cord that helps prevent tangling. These are ten feet long, which is twice as long as the stock DualShock cable and one foot longer than the stock Xbox One cable.

Replacement Face Pad for Oculus Rift VR Headset ($20)

Replacement face pads for VR head-mounted displays (HMD) are not available directly from HMD manufacturers yet, but Bionik is offering their own face pads. Instead of wiping down the inner gasket when switching between users, you could just pop them in and out. The product is identical to Oculus' face pad.

Replacement Face Pad for Samsung Gear VR Headset ($13)

Much like the replacement face pad for the Oculus Rift, Bionik is making one for Samsung Gear VR headsets. It simply snaps in and out of the HMD itself. It is also identical to the OEM face pad on the Gear VR.

Power Kit for Samsung Gear VR ($30)

Battery life is a challenge with Gear VR headsets. Plugging in a charging cable hinders the capability of the Gear VR, but Bionik designed a charging kit that minimizes the hassle of wires. The Power Kit VR is a 13-foot micro-USB cable with a 90 degree bend at its end. It also features a breakaway as a safety measure in case you ever step on the cable. It works with all three generations of Gear VR headsets.
