Xbox One, PC Exclusive We Happy Few Hits Early Access Next Month
We Happy Few features permadeath in a procedurally generated world.
We Happy Few, which was shown at Microsoft's E3 press conference early Monday, is headed to Xbox One and PC next month through the Preview program and Early Access respectively. The game is set in an alternate-history England after protagonist Arthur Hastings refuses to take his state-encouraged happy pills. You can see the E3 stage demo in the embed above.
Players are tasked with finding their way out of the town of Wellington Wells, which will be difficult for Hastings as he needs to blend in or be attacked by its citizens--they don't like "Downers," the name for people who don't take the aforementioned pills.
The game features permadeath in a procedurally generated world, which makes each experience different from the last. It's got survival elements and can be tackled in an number of different ways. You'll need food, water, and sleep to survive, but you'll be able to interact with enemies by conforming, being stealthy, or attacking head-on. You can see some screenshots in the gallery below.
We Happy Few's pre-launch versions will be available for Xbox One and PC on July 26. You can see all the news that was announced at Microsoft's E3 press conference here or check out some of the stories through the links below.
