Perfect companion for busy folks who have one or two hours of late night gaming to spare!
The art is ridiculously good, the graphics are superb and fresh, the animations are ok but fit well within the overall art direction.
Gameplay is the highlight of this game, the ability to customize weapons is great, the ability to customize your character using potions and special moves is also very well done. It's not overwhelmingly deep, but is deep enough to entice you to max out your experience. My ONLY gripe with the gameplay is the, sometimes, inaccurate targeting with projectile weapons. Everything else is gravy. The weapons are varied and are suited to each enemy and level, and the button layout is intuitive and easy to pick up.
The sound design is SPLENDID. The haunting tracks are truly excellent, and the voice acting is simply one of the best in any game; arcade or otherwise. The narrator brings the story to life with his grimy, western voice, and the background music is fitting and adds to each level.
The boss battles are fun, and aren't too difficult. The game could be slightly more difficult (given that there are no difficulty settings), but like I said, it's a perfect game for those who haven't much time to spare.
All in all, this is a great title from an independent game studio that deserves kudos, and maybe a buyout! hahaha.
