Blink and you ll miss this beauty. it isnt quite a blur at all but very very fast and fantastic fun !!!
A good presentational opening, plenty of tracks and cars and a brucy bonus "fans" to win over in every race keep blur a challenge and such a fantastic one, and your greeted with "previously on blur" when you boot it up every time, nice touch.
Visually its a really good almost cartoon look, plenty of detail, sadley 720 p only but everything looks wonderful.
The cars are polished, look cool and handle differently, drifty, very drifty, grippy or balanced and for once does size matter, with heavier cars losing speed for "get out of my way-ness" !! to with tarmac being perfect for the lower faster cars and rough terrain to complimet the landys or buggys. With this you increase your garage of avalabile cars and different"class" of car(faster) with "fans", the more fan tasks you complete, along with battles or cars you hit, aswell as driving, the more cars you ll receive with a boss style race battle at the end.
After a couple of races to get you going, a few car class upgrades and tracks and you on your way. Its unique driving style(s) and appearance make this simply the driving game of the year so far. Some really good track design, weapons and again feel of it is second to none and tracks such as brighton are a real challenge or the docks where opponants can blow you into the water.
Blur is really really really fast in the class a and above events, even class b shifts the polygon rate.. If your after a solid driving game this will and wont appeal i know that makes no sense, i say this beacuse you have to fight like combat cars or wipe out along with some seriously smooth fast paced racing, blur stands on its own, though you can just race, its a little flat. The game is very polished with a water colour feel to it as if someone picked up a paintbrush and ruined your tv!!, almost errie. Some of the tracks look stunning and the cars too, oh the migane (grippy) is very nice to drive and concrete basin level is soooooo fast.
You have different style of weapon, missile, bomb, sheild, stun, boost, repair, lighting bolt and a weird massive ball that anialates your opponants when fired. This makes blur so much more than a driving game and a real joy to play. Along with the speed of it all its just fantastic fun.
Dont compare this to any other game, it looks different, plays quite uniquely and all this at a good frame rate, its just very satisfying to play! (and some games are fast).
A huge selection of cars tracks, fans to consider in every race, opponants aggresive behaviour, and you can fire backwards too, all wrapped in a very nice presentation throughout oh and i forgot to mention 20, yes 20 other racers all wanting to eat your ass!!.
Multiplayer is a scream (as you can imagine), some reviews knock the split screen play but with a big enough tv and 4 of your pals, its massive fun and somehow shifts even faster!! link up and online is good too !!!.
In the past i may have gotten a little excited over previous releases, blur is no exception you'll be hard to find a racer thats this good. Blur will leave very very happy memories, like gran turismo on the ps2, or sonic on the megadrive we ve all got our own, make this one of them.
Buy this right now, i would have given it 10 and i don't know why i haven't rarely does a game of this caliber come along i ll still be talking about this when im dying.
I am still really really enjoying this and havent played anything else for weeks, the multiplayer is very very good. A REAL BOBBY DAZZLER!!
