Collection 3 isn't up to "Call of Duty" DLC standards.

User Rating: 6 | Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Collection 3 X360

"Modern Warfare 3 - Collection 3: Chaos Pack" was not made for players who have multiplayer mayhem in mind. It was designed for those who prefer the co-op aspect of COD. It includes four Spec Ops missions, "Chaos" mode and three "Face Off" maps. Unfortunately, the new mode included, "Chaos" isn't too exciting. A more fast-paced, arcade-like version of "Survival", it's about getting the highest score possible by chaining kills and gaining combo multipliers. You are given four self-revives at the start and your armor is numbed at 500. Weapons, perks and care packages are scattered everywhere. The mode is fast and fun, but very little strategy is required. All you do is run and shoot to stay alive. "Chaos" can only be played on four maps; Resistance, Village, Dome and Underground. You can play it solo or with a partner in splitscreen or online.

The four Spec Ops missions included are "Arctic Recon", "Vertigo", "Light 'Em Up" and "Special Delivery". As usual, you can play them solo or with a partner. You can play each mission on three diffculty levels. "Light 'Em Up" and "Special Delivery" are similar; one player fights on ground level, while the other fires from a chopper. Both are night missions in which you rescue hostages while fighting off hordes of soliders. In "Arctic Recon" (a day mission), one player controls a drone to tag beacon locations, while the other player plants the explosives. "Vertigo" starts off with helicopters attacking a rooftop. Once you clear them, you must fight off waves of soliders before being extracted. All four missions are fun, but the "Spec Ops" available on the "Modern Warfare 3" disc are more expansive in their scope.

The three Face-Off maps are "U-Turn", "Vortex" and "Intersection". The latter (set in the streets of New York) is the biggest map, spanning two city blocks with several stores and apartment buildings to hide in. "Vortex" is the smallest one set near a barn and its immediate surrounding area. And "U-Turn" is the most basic map composed of a bombed out six-lane freeway and abandoned vehicles. As stated before, Collection 3 is not for those who love COD for its competitive gameplay. "Chaos" is fun, but has limited appeal. The four "Spec Ops" missions are also enjoyable, but lack replay value. And the "Face Off" maps lack size and creativity. I'd say Collection 3 is worth only about 10 bucks. Hardcore COD fans would be better off purchasing Collection 4 which contains five big multiplayer maps.
