College Hoops 2K8 is basically the same game as 2K7.....and 2K6, but it still can be fun to play.

College Hoops 2K8 is a lot like the past years. The same voices, same animations, even the same music as far as I can tell. Not saying that is always a bad thing, but it isn't always great for the game series.
The feature I use most is still Legacy mode, where I take on the reigns of taking a really bad school, in my case, Florida Gulf Cost University, of the Atlantic Sun conference, and try to take them to the final four. Well it sucks so bad at first with the bad recruiting and the bad players. But that's why I started at the default setting for difficulty and worked up the next couple of notches when I took a different job.
The recruiting is basically the same, you get so many points per week and you can call players, scout them, visit them at home or email them. Various actions you do cause them to be more interested. Maybe it is because I have a heavy RPG background but I found this recruiting kind of fun. Lots of people say it's the worst part of the game and its' painstakingly slow and boring, but I like it. Instead of trying to gain that extra level, you try to gain that top recruit.
Gameplay is the same as last year, same moves and everything, it is hard to find a good 3 point shooter that can just sit outside the arc and drain them, so I guess it is realistic but not as fun! Dunks have about 5 different ones and they get really old and over used. Pressing in the game can basically cause you to force 100 turnovers and convert to easy layups pretty easy.
Same game, different year and name, still fun to play for the most part, and it is only $19.99 so it can be a nice bargain instead of March Madness 08 for $29.99.
