Company of Heroes is a well designed real time strategy game that really leaves its mark by being both realistic and different in enough ways from other RTS games to stand out. The game does an excellent job of keeping the pressure on by forcing players to constantly contend for "control points" on the battlefield which yield different kinds of resources. Having to constantly fight for these points means there is never a dull moment in the game as players cannot afford to waste anytime sitting back and building armies. This is a game that rewards aggressiveness, and that being said I cannot recommend this game to novice RTS players. COH has a steep learning curve and requires quick thinking and reflexes.
Mods like blitzkreig and eastern front radically change the gameplay and add tons of hours of replay value for free.
