I loved the first Costume Quest and therefore had to have the second. It was equally good and fun. Furthermore, the game looks good and has the superb quality of a Double Fine Productions game.
The setting is Halloween, and you go trick or treating around the neighbourhood. Things go awry and you have to save the world from a candyless future. For this you use your costume to transform, fight and use special abilities. The amount of detail in decorations, costumes, neighbourhoods and monsters makes for a really engaging experience. There are many fun and unique characters, quests, settings in the game.
Apart from collecting candy,costumes and cards, there are both main and side quests and you can find new friends to join your party. Cards and candy are used to upgrade costumes and add enhancing effects for in battle. Combined with your choice of what costumes to use, these make for some RPG-like choices. The game is very forgiving though and is fitting for both children and adults.
In essence, I would say this game is just great fun and well produced. I played it with my partner and some candy on halloween night and the day after. Would highly recommend to anyone. :)
