Crash Tag Team Racing is a fun racing adventure game for PS2 players and one of the best Crash series games.
The story
You arrive at Ebenezer Von Clutch's theme park, all the power crystals have been stolen and his personal black heart power gem too, Von Clutch is terribly overwhelmed by this and has said that whoever finds the power crystals will be given the deed to the park. Your main goal is to find out who has been stealing the power crystals and without the power crystals you can't go to a new land. You will compete against other characters in races and fight evil ninja penguins! As you get of the end of the game you discover that the person who has stolen the power crystals loves Wumpa Whips. Hey the park mascot likes Wumpa Whipps! Yes the mascot stole all the power crystals and tries to escape by jumping on a rocket ship from Astro Land as you would have guessed it is your task to foil his plans once and for all.
Minigames
Two of the minigames you experience are: Von Clutch's Lanes (bowling) and Dropped on Djin (protection). Another type of minigame is the fun task of helping the other characters, you might be asked to find parts of their car for them, collect coins, buy them a new outfit or give them a power crystal but in return you will unlock there cool cars (HINT: keep asking the same person until they repeat themselves this will give you a brief description of the location or the object they want you to find).
Racing / Fast Lap / Run and Gun
Clashing is the key to winning races because clashing enables you to shoot up your enemies and see them go up in flames as you race to victory! If your the gunner you have the chance to make some one shot K.O's (don't forget this as they are infinity times more destructive than regular powerups)and use your tag team partner's gun. Driving is also a thrilling experience as you can powerslide, take advantage of shortcuts (only if you have discovered them) and use your booster rockets to gain some serious ground. (HINT: if you are clashed with another car and believe you can win the race by yourself, unclash with the other car, this also gives you an extra push).
Stunts/Battle Arenas
In the two stunt areanas your objective is to pull of some awesome nailbitting stunts and get the highest score you possibly can to win. The more successful stunts you land you gain the power to use BOOSTER ROCKETS and continue using them until they wear out.The battle arenas are also a brilliant oppurtunity to practise your gunning in a fast pace shoot 'em up style battle. (HINT: if you collect characters unique weapon icons you have the ability to use them).
Summary
This is most likely a game aimed at a younger audience and is in that fact a complete success.I also feel that the storyline is a big compliment to the characters as it includes them in a fun exciting way.The minigames are all jam packed with fun and new so very addictive for game players of a younger age.Similarly the racing is a new expierience, I feel this gives a fresh breeze of air into the Crash series and is a new welcome change! Definitely one of the best racing/adventure games I have played in a very long time and I deeply recommend this for young players who like racing or adventure style games!!!
