So you've just bought the Kinect and you're wondering if Dance Central is worth it.... It is.

It was 9 o'clock at night during a recent family party and it was dying down a bit. The conversations quieted down, and everything felt too awkward for my taste. So, I decided to bring Kinect with Dance Central over and the party woke up and lasted until 2 AM.

The game is great, and I'll continue to elaborate on what the Gamespot review didn't.

The music selection is varied enough and presents itself with a well-thought out playlist sure to sate any person's musical taste. While the selection seems small with it's ~30 song count, each and every song is given it's own unique choreography, and no individual dance move is recycled. The moves themselves are hilarious at times and stay true to the spirit of the music, and the enthusiasm, realistic animations, and character of the dancers in the game, as well as the graphics are incredibly appealing, and work well to influence even the shy ones to get up and give it a try.

A vital feature of the game which factors in its adaptivity to solo and party play is the varying difficulties of each individual song. This is especially true when bright-eyed newcomers are barely sight-reading the dance moves. Easy and even some medium mode routines are easy enough to mimic, as well as fun to do and watch.
As for the hard mode routines, they can get PRETTY darn hard (as you do further down the song list) but are incredibly satisfying to learn (via "Break it down" mode, Dance Central's intuitive tutorial mode) and to put together into a single, cohesive performance that you can master on your own, take to the clubs, or impress your friends.

Bottom-line, there really is no loss in adding this game to your fresh Kinect library. It's stylish, streamlined in design, and substantial in its own right. Even the menu navigation via Kinect is very well developed!
