Extremely intense but amazing

I think this game is a masterpiece. It's absolutely gorgeous to look at, hectic to play and so cleverly designed. From one point-of-view, the entire game seems to be one gradually paced tutorial in how to become the ultimate Doomslayer; being able to utilise all of his extensive capabilities to annihilate demon scum at a frenetic pace without getting bruised. You will get bruised learning how to do this, but by the end your competence in abilities will have you zipping around in a blur like an unstoppable, godlike killing machine with the viscera of your slain foes raining down around you in a mist of blood, giblets and fireballs. It's everything Doom should be. The Doomslayer is such a baddass, and he makes you want to become the baddest badass you can be, and that's the whole point. There is no action shooter in the same class as this, that I've come across. The soundtrack is perfect, there is a lot of depth to mods and upgrades and limitless replayability with hunting secrets, achievements and unlocking abilities of many, many flavors. Platforming elements have been introduced which serve well to add a new dynamic to the gameplay. I found this game to be a little intimidating at first, but stick with it and you will understand why it's so great. I also find it more enjoyable and less frustrating than it's precursor
