A good Beat-'Em-Up game to have in your Playstation 2 collection.

Most people know what the series Dynasty Warriors is. It's a Beat-'Em-Up series based on Romance of the three Kingdoms, which was based on the era of the three Kingdoms. Dynasty Warriors started to suck in its later years but there was a time when it was worth playing believe it or not.

Gameplay, 7. The way the game works is that you go around the map killing enemy soldiers, officers and generals until eventually you get to the leader of the other side in that map. You also have soldiers, officers, generals, and a commander. The gameplay is quite simple.
There are different modes to play in the game. Mushou mode is basically the story mode where you choose a character of one of the three sides: Shu, Wu, and Wei. What side and battles you go to all depends on what character you choose to play as. Free mode is where you go to any battle you have won as any character you wish to be. You can also play with a friend here, but if one of you dies then you both lose. There is a Survival mode where you go around the map killing everybody until you die. Time Attack is where you kill a certain amount of troops as fast as you can. The Vs. mode is where you and a friend can play together on multiple battles.
The game plays fine. The game is certainly fun usually. There are some faults with it of course. Some of the characters are a little unbalanced. There is also always health when you don't need it but when you do it's no where to be found. All in all though the game plays just fine.

Graphics, 9. For this early in the Playstation 2's lifetime these are great graphics. Plenty of details to all of the stages. The chararacter have look good too.

Sound, 9. The music is just fantastic. I've always liked the music to this game and it's fun to fight the enemy to it. The voice acting is all right. It does sound cheesy sometimes though.

Value, 9. This game will last you a long time. There are over 30 characters to beat the game with. Plenty of fun to be had with the Free mode. There is also the Survival and Time Attack modes. Vs. is good also.

Difficulty, Just Right. There are multiple difficulties to play on so the game is only as hard as you want it to be.

Tilt, 7. I generally liked this game. If you want a Beat-'Em-Up game then you should have no trouble enjoying this one.
