Dynasty Warriors 3 is much better than the previous two games.
I am a hardcore fan of the series and I have played all DW games. In fact, DW1 is my first PS2 game. I bought my PS2 because I saw the preview of DW and I want to play it. I have completed DW3 soon after it released and fully max out everything in the game. DW3 has improved a lot from the previous two games and it is an amazing game.
There are many mode of play in DW3. In Musou mode, you can choose to play as any one of the general who served under any of the three kingdoms and after you have completed all the stages, you will get an ending for that character. There are so many playable characters in this game and some of them request you to fulfill certain conditions in order to unlock them. Not only characters from the three kingdoms, you can also play as Lu Bu, Zhan Jiao, Dong Zhuo and others who are not belong to the three kingdoms. However those characters do not have a storyline in Musou mode, you can only play them under Free mode.
In DW3, every playable character has their unique weapon and move-set. Each weapon has four levels and the 4th level weapon is the best unique weapon which only can be obtained by fulfilling special conditions. This game also allows the character to equipment items which give bonus to attack, defense, speed, musou, life and so on. It also has saddles that the character can ride in the battlefield. They are many unique secret items which can be unlocked through fulfilling special conditions in the game and I think all these have added replay value to the game and more fun to play.
The game-play is as usual, you need to cut through horde of enemies and beat opponent generals or capture some base in order to win the battle. There are so many battle stages all based on actual historical events in the romance of three kingdoms with minor amendments to add more fun to the game. You can play as single player or have another player to join you in co-mode.
The graphic of this game is well done and the music and sounds are very nice as well. I have no complaint on the graphic & sound. The characters design is also great and DW3 has added more playable characters than the previous two games. Overall, this game is really outstanding in everyway than the previous two games and if you like action game and you are a fan of romance of three kingdoms than you must not miss this game. I strongly recommend you to buy this game because you can carry forward your DW3 save file to DW3: Extreme Legend to continue the good game.
