if you don't want to waste your time in a gym in front of all these muscular men, this is the best option!

User Rating: 9 | EA Sports Active 2 WII
I have been playing this game for 3 weeks now and after phase 1 of the 9 weeks program, I am ready to tell you my opinion about this game.

Small biography:
I am 24 years old, obese (255 pounds when I started) and I have been obese for most of my life, but this is all my fault. I eat too much and I can't stop. Give me a pack of cookies and trust me none will be left in 30min. I am shy in life and, really, I don't want to go in a gym. I don't have the time either, my career is draining much of my times. So instead of wasting 300$ in a gym, I bought a wii, a wii balance board and EA sports active 2. I also started a kind of weight loss program, I am not setting any limit on what I can eat, but I try to avoid dumb choice, like eating chips in front of the tv. I eat popcorn instead (made with a home hot air machine and spice I bough at the supermarket), more fibres= good choice

Result? I am sitting at 240 pounds, I feel "MUCH" better. I walk stairs without taking my breath every 10 steps. I can walk a mile without sweating like an hippo outside water. You will see the result fast with this game. The heart rate monitor that I though was a complete waste of battery at first, has grown on me. Seeing my heart bump to 180 during a sprint (when it was barely hitting 150 at first) is so cool and this heart rate monitor works quite well. The game register well the movement in general, except when you are using the resistance band. Take some time to get used to it.

You have to be motivated, otherwise it's pointless!< because let's be honest>, the game is not much fun, it's like a gym, except you do it at home when you want and it's has more diversity. Each lesson last between 20 to 30 min, which is, imo, perfect. If you want more, you can always set your own routine or ask the game to create one for you that will focus on one or more portion of your body and last the amount of time you want. The game feature about 80 exercises. More than what you would find in a gym + the mini games are kind of fun

Only bad points: The need to use the wiimote/balance board every 5min otherwise the game shut down. Not as bad as it sounds, it's just annoying and a complete waste of battery. Considering the game "barely" use the wii balance board, I will not even bother using it at all once I start the 3 weeks cardio program or another 9 weeks challenge. Soon you will learn to tap the A button and the wii balance board to prevent that

Also, the music in this game is garbage. It's a mix of the horrible music you would hear in a cheap gym and music you would hear in a Sims game.

Still, a good investment if you want to feel better with yourself
