If you're like me then you randomly read and article about a game that will appeal to Left 4 Dead players. This game was called Earth fall, A 4 player coop survival game where you and friends battle against alien " hordes" . So like a L4d fan I got excited, preordered the game and started playing day of release.
The first red flag was that I could not for the life of me find ANYONE to play with. No one in my friends list bothered to pick up a copy ( clever girls ) and not a single soul was joining my open lobby.
The story is lacking, and by lacking I mean there is no story, you just start off playing some very bland characters in the middle of a alien invasion. The gameplay feels outdated, actually everything about it feels outdated, the animation, the graphics, I had to keep checking my system to make sure I was playing an Xbox One X and not a fucking 360!!
They have special aliens like l4d has special infected, you know the ones that stand out from the rest of the zombies, the hunter pins you down and tears you to shreds until someone gets him off you, smoker choked you with it's tongue, etc etc, the game ATTEMPTS this and its just so damn corny. They even have a tank alien that's called BEAST....creative name i know.
After a few levels of playing with the bots I got bored and gave up, its the same shit over and over again, you go here, hit something it alerts a "horde" and I use the word horde loosely because it doesn't feel overwhelming at all, you kill them move to the next thing, do something that alerts a horde, rinse and repeat.
This game would have be great if it was 2007 and L4d never existed. If you want a L4d type game...play Warhammer Vermintide. It'll scratch that itch.
