People in GS play some weird games

Occasionally I check out people's gamespot profiles and have noticed some games I have never heard of. If you know of or would recommend a game that you like other than the normal popular ones, please post them here. Especially the moderators play some off the wall stuff after lookin' at their achievements.

Agreed. I am a huge fan of several games that never really hit main stream attention. A good example is Resonance of Fate. Such a good RPG I am still needing to finish.

How come Resonance of Fate is not popular? From the reviews I've read seems to be the best JRPG on the PS3 so far!

But seriously, RoF is a great game, but like many games of its kind, it won't get a fair shake by the media, so you're better off going with word-of-mouth (or text-by-fingers?).

Oh no that comment was directed at the TC, not at demon souls. If I had a PS3 I would have been all over it already. Almost bought it for my friends ps3 but he moved. Never could get into the tales series. I guess I'm more of a tri ace guy.. Haha. I've been meaning to check it out, but alas time is not on my side for these things.

Jezzball? Lol, that was a fun one. That was on our family's computer with Windows 3.1. Rodent's Revenge was my favorite back then.

King9999 has a point. Unless if it's Final Fantasy or Grand Theft Auto, the media will sweep every other game under the rug.

I read, in reviews, pretty much the same thing. If it's not Halo, it's not worth buying. To me, that's a ridiculous opinion to hear, but unfotunately, it's backed up by the majority of critics and fans alike.

Um, I think the creator of this thread was using "weird" as a complement. And if by weird, he meant "unique" then all of the unpopular treasures of the gaming world are awesome.

Has zilch to do with not being a FF title. The repetitive battle system and lack of a cohesive story for the first 2/3 of the game definitely has a lot to do with it. It also didn't get all that much marketing.

Valkyria Chronicles didn't get crap for marketing either, but I would argue it's the best JRPG this generation, far above RoF.

Demon's Souls wasn't developed by Atlus, it was developed by From Software. Atlus only published it.

A play alot of Japanese shooters like; Dodonpachi, Mushihimesama, ESPgaluda that kind of stuff.

I have this really damn wierd RTS that features rednecks, amazons with dinos, bikers, death cultists and cyborgs as playable factions. The box art features Elvis shooting pistols akimbo in the air in a wasteland with a burger lying next to him. It's called Tribal Rage.

Jazz Jackrabbit 2, a 1998 PC game. Even going by today's standards, I still prefer this over any other 2D platformer out there. It also has great online and a deep yet userfriendly level editor. Yeah, LBP didn't really invent that one.

Also, Jazz Jackrabbit 1 makes the 2D Sonic games look slow.
