Both rule. In fact I think these were the best consoles in that generation and they were the best years of my life of these two consoles.

I can't choose because I grew up with both and absolutely loved both lol. Despite the immense rivalry between Sega and Nintendo, I don't think fanboyism was much of an issue back then. I'm sure people took sides and whatnot, but they didn't spend so much time arguing with each other about which system was better. We simply played games and talked about how awesome they were.

Nintendo all the way! Super nintendo had more great games for longer, i found. Sega had its moments, but seemed like it was dying near the end.

I'd say the SNES just because I owned more games for it, and its library seems more memorable to me.

Sega Genesis because it's more accessible.

I had a Genesis and never owned a SNES, one of my close friends did, both were good, looking back on it I believe that the Super Nintendo may have been a little bit better, but that may be because I never owned one.

The SNES had a very constricted library in the UK...many games never crossed the Atlantic and moreover they were often hard to find (not least because they weren't stocked very highly after the NES had been owned by the Master System). I suppose Europe and the UK is a bit of a freak example though.

The Genesis was the bomb before the Super NES came out. It took a bit, but by the time Street Fighter II came out I remember my Super NES getting most of the attention. If I had to pick between the two today, as in could only take one to a desert Island, I guess it'd have to be the SNES.
