It's been ages for me. At work, I've been watching the movie on my PSP. I saw The Simpsons Movie when it came out in theaters (2007). I'm not certain but I don't think it impressed me. Well, I'm liking it so far. 20 min. in.

How about you? When was the last time you watched The Simpsons?

When I was a kid.

Simpsons is a joke these days. It is no longer well written or even remotely funny. I believe the current show runner has said - "If you cut quality you can go on forever."

Simpsons should have ended a long time ago - don't know why its still going on.

Agree with this very much.

It's popped up now and again, and give a new episode a shot now and again. But na.

Usually easy to tell when it's older episode, lower visual fidelity and the fact been repeated gazillion times, those happily watch.

It’s been easily a decade ago,if not longer? The show isn’t even entertaining anymore.

Probably when the movie came out. Yeah, it's been a while. I didn't really enjoy the direction the show as going in so I just stopped watching.

I used to watch The Simpsons religiously. It's one of those series where a lot of the episodes are worth a rewatch, plus there's so many of them you can sort of make it through 20 seasons and then start over again and it wouldn't really feel too repetitive.

I watched seasons 3-13 a fuckton because that's what I had on my HDD. Same with the first five seasons of Futurama.

That was at least 15 years ago tho.... I don't watch much in terms of shows or movies these days. It's prob been over a decade since I seriously watched an ep of the Simpsons. I don't think I've seen much after season ~15.

I don't think I've seen anything since the movie came out. It might be good again, I have no idea. But it was definitely a sinking ship 15 years ago.

Other than The Simpson movie back in 2007, the very last time I watch was The Simpsons meets Family Guy crossover that was a 1 time event on TV. Its pretty clear that Homer is a far better Father/Husband than Peter Griffin. (Hell, even Hank Hill makes both of these guys chumps for that matter)

Edit: At that time, The Simpsons movie 2007 was meant to be the all-end for the series but Fox kept asking for a new contract thus why The Simpsons is still around. We all thought the movie was gonna end it all but we we're all wrong.

The wife used to watch this religiously, now, I don't think she's watched any of the last 3 seasons or so. I've checked out way longer than that--the only animated show I watch on Fox is Bob's Burgers and that's it. There hasn't been a dip in quality for that yet.

I rewatched the first nine seasons seven or eight years ago. Didn't continue because a lot of the decline was already very apparent in seasons 8 and 9. It became too much of a cartoon.

Maybe it's me, but The Simpsons Movie doesn't hold up very well. I was excited when it first came out, but after watching again not too long ago, it's kinda mediocre.

Well, it's still airing on Fox. It's 33rd (Jee-zus!) season. Fox will keep it as long as it keeps makes money for the network, I guess. But they NEED to think of an endgame already.

I didn't watch the Simpsons movie until a few years after it came out, because I was already so disenchanted with the series at that point. Actually, when I rented it on Blu-ray last year, I thought that I had never watched it in full before. It surprised me that I remembered the events. It's a 3/5 or 6/10 for me.

nothing makes me reach for the remote faster than an episode of the simpsons from the last 20+ seasons starting on tv.

thankfully theyre easy to spot, i can have the channel changed before they make it to the couch in the opening credits

I did a tad bit of research and found that The Simpsons are big in Argentina. Could explain why the humor has changed. Play to the audience, or something like that.

Anyway it seems it's the foreign markets keeping them around.

Two and a half years ago, I watched this series while studying in Canada. Unfortunately, I don't have time to watch this series these days.

I still haven't seen movie (I'll try one day via Disney+). They should of made a movie during the 90s. I stopped watching Simpsons somewhere between 1999/2000.

The 90s episodes on Disney+ are classics.
