Just curious because at times it bugs me that once I finish a game and move on that I should go back to it and get what I miss. Example: Twilight Princess.  All I am missing is 5 heart pieces and most of the Poe souls.  Should I be bothered by this? :?  Do you guys find it good enough to just "beat" the game?

For me, beating a game is getting all the achievement points out of it. I stopped playing Oblivion after I got 1000/1000 achievements.

I find it pretty hard it some games.I mean,I was never able to get 100% in Metroid Prime, but I was able to do it 3 times in Prime 2.But you feel a sense of accomplishment if you do get 100%.I do it sometimes, but not all the time.

And I never try getting all the Poe Souls in TP.There are just too many!

Yea, I've done that with a few games.

The only one that I've done that though that actually keeps track for you though was FFX-2, although there were others that I've completed/done/seen everything also. Gamerscore and achievement points are a good tally book for this as well.

I try.  Its harder in games that don't tell you how much of the game that you've completed and in a game like Morrowind which was described as "having so many quests that you couldn't find and complete them all even if you tried".

Yes, it can bother. In Oblivion I did all the achievements, all the quests, but I don't have all weapons/armor/clothing yet so that's what I'm searching for now.

Kingdom Hearts II.

I didn't know at the time that by choosing normal mode, I had to do EVERYTHING to get the secret ending (and I wanted to see the secret ending!). And there were no videos of the secret ending online at the time, so... >_>

But besides that, I usually don't beat it 100%. It's not worth my time and not get some awesome weapon or... something. >_>

It depends if the game is good or not. The worst thing I've done is get all the capsules in Budokai 2 by playing the same damn board game over and over.

Rarely I do. Last game I did it with was GTA: San Andreas. I still want to do it for Metroid Prime and Twilight Princess. Some games, though, it's just impossible. Try getting 100% on Advance Wars: Dual Strike. It's freaking IMPOSSIBLE.

I've done it a few times. But for me, defeating the final boss is usually enough for me to consider the game beaten.

Level 99 in Symphony of the Night.:D Took me over 200+ hours. The last level is millions of experience points from level 98 and by the time you get to level 70 every enemy in the game almost is only 1 point.:(

Should I just play a game, beat it and move on?  It itches away at me if I don't get 100% but I have no time to do so. :(

The games that I beat and played again to get everything I possibly could last gen were, uhm, Metroid Prime, God of War, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, uhm, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Half Life 2, Halo, Fable...

And I think that's it. The other games that I play in depth like Animal Crossing, The Sims 2, The Movies, etc don't really have an ending...

Yeah, the Xbox 360 kind of changed how all that works - in some sense, making it harder.  As most dev's will now make achievements for getting all of a specific item (Target Marks in LP, COG tags in GeoW), etc., but you'll also have achievements for MP, etc that might take a while ("Seriously")

Like, for instance, I've given up hope on ever getting "Seriously"...I know I'm not going to do it (get 10,000 kills in MP), so I don't specifically work toward it.

But Crackdown...I've already decided I will get every single achievement in that game.  Every damn one.

Yes, it can bother. In Oblivion I did all the achievements, all the quests, but I don't have all weapons/armor/clothing yet so that's what I'm searching for now.

Not usually. Sometimes I try to achieve specific goals though. Like getting all the hidden sword moves in Zelda TP or stealing from every guild hall in Oblivion :P
